Corine Land Cover som viser et arealdekkekart for Norge som inngår i det europeiske kartprogrammet CORINE Land Cover (CLC). Arealfigurene utgjør unike arealtyper generalisert fra arealressurskart i målestokk 5000, tolking av satelittbilder i høyfjellet og N50. CLC er arealressurskart på europeisk nivå som kun er egnet for visualisering. Fremstillingsmetoden i Norge avviker noe fra den europeiske standarden. Tjenesten inneholder kartlag med årsversjon 2000, 2006, 2012 og 2018 av CLC for Norge.

The CORINE (Coordination of information on the environment) program was started by the European Environment Agency (EEA) in 1985. Land cover information was introduced with the CORINE land cover (CLC) dataset for reference year 1990. The CLC database has been updated three times (CLC2000, CLC2006 and CLC2012). CLC is now implemented in all EU countries, most of the Central and Eastern European countries, as well as in Norway and Iceland (EEA 2007). The same hierarchical (three levels) classification system for land cover is used throughout the whole Europe. The first level has five classes of land cover. The second level has 15 classes the third level has 44 classes of land cover. Working scale of CLC is 1: 100.000.The smallest mapping unit is 25 hectares. CLC datasets for Norway are produced by automatic generalization of existing high-resolution national land resource datasets supplemented with input from topographic maps and various public databases.
