Description
CORINE Land Cover (CLC) er et landsdekkende arealdekkekart for Norge som inngår i det europeiske programmet CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment). Datasettet beskriver arealdekket ved hjelp av et harmonisert klassifikasjonssystem som benyttes i hele Europa, og inngår som den norske delen av et sømløst europeisk arealdekkekart.
CLC viser hovedtrekkene i arealdekket og omfatter blant annet bebygde områder, jordbruksarealer, skog, åpen fastmark, myr og våtmark samt vannflater. Klassifikasjonen er hierarkisk oppbygd i tre nivåer med henholdsvis 5, 15 og 44 arealdekkeklasser.
Det norske CLC-datasettet er produsert ved generalisering av detaljerte nasjonale arealressursdata, supplert med topografiske data og andre offentlige datakilder.
