Stage 2 - Application for approval of children's and pupils' working environment

New and existing kindergartens, schools and after-school programmes without an approval decision under the regulations must apply for approval of the children's and pupils' working environment (stage 2). The business must apply for approval before the building is taken into use. The application must be submitted no later than four weeks before opening. The application should be completed by the head of the kindergarten or the head teacher in consultation with the unit manager. The owner of the business is responsible for applying to Environmental Health for approval of the measures, and for ensuring that the business meets all requirements in the regulations at start-up. The owner may delegate responsibility for the application process.
