Description

A Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) is a portable device that transmits distress signals via the Cospas‑Sarsat satellite system when activated, enabling rescue services to locate you quickly – even in areas without mobile coverage. To use a PLB in Norway, permission is required from the Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom), which assigns a unique call sign and registers ownership and contact details with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.
