Terms of use
All businesses must accept the terms of use before registering data in The National Data Catalog.
Registration of Personal Data
The National Data Catalog offers catalog services for the public and private sectors to register descriptions of datasets, terms, APIs, services and protocol for processing activities according to GDPR.
The National Data Catalog also provides the publication of registered catalogs in The National Data Catalog portal.
Personal data processed during login and registration:
For authentication and authorization of users of catalog services, the login solution via Felles brukerhåndtering and/or ID-porten/Altinn is used. The Norwegian Digitalisation Agency is the data controller for the use of personal data in both login solutions.
In the catalog services for descriptions of datasets, terms, APIs, services and protocol for processing activities, the name of the person logged in on behalf of the organization is made available. In addition, the name and social identity number are processed for the identification of the person who accepts the terms of use on behalf of the organization. The name is stored as long as the terms of use are accepted.
Furthermore, the following personal data is processed in the protocol for processing activities: names and contact information of data controllers and data protection officers.
Data Controller
Each organization is the data controller for personal data registered in the catalogs for the organization and made available in the portal, including requirements for legal bases, information updates, and deletions. The Norwegian Digitalisation Agency is the data processor for the processing of this information.
The National Data Catalog uses a cloud solution. The cloud provider is Google Cloud. A data processing agreement with Google Cloud ensures security measures related to integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

Notice of Changes to Terms of Use
If there is a need to change these terms of use, The Norwegian Digitalisation Agency shall provide notice of this one month in advance of the change. Notification will occur through information in The National Data Catalog portal and by providing such information to users with editing rights on behalf of the organization.
